2022 Grand Finals Results & Club Champions

The 2022 seasons comes to a close.

18 St George teams were fortunate enough to make the grand finals, with varying results, including a draw! Games were played across the Sydney metropolitan area with most games taking place in the St George and Cronulla districts due to the Southern Corridor partnership with ours being hosted on the 28th of August at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium which was a day of some great football.

We were able to show our appreciation to Club Rivers (Craig Wilson and Jenny Holt), our Principal Partner, by presenting to them a framed St George Junior Rugby League jersey. Also a huge thank you to our special guests throughout the day Chris Minns, Cherie Burton, GRC Deputy Mayor Kathryn Lansberry, GRC Councillor Elise Borg and Matt O’Brian, it was great to be able to host them to some brilliant football being played. Thank you for supporting the junior league and representing our communities through sharing the passion of community involvement. It was also great to see Danny Daher, Kyle Stanley and Michelle Anderson from the St George District Club stopping by to watch a few games, thank you for your support and our partnership, which continues to grow. A big thank you to all our volunteers who helped out on the day. We had a great spread from our Junior League Board, VP’s, NSWRL&NRL staff and people from around the clubs who offered up their time and effort to help out on the ground, the gate, the table, the sign on’s in the tunnel, and just everywhere they were needed. We must also show our appreciation to the St George District Referees Association and the referees for doing a great job out in the middle and we hope the appointments reflected all the hard work the went on during the season.

We were also able to crown our club champions with Kingsgrove Colts being the junior champion and Renown United being the senior club champion. The presentation of these trophies were accepted by both presidents, Chad Ndaira and Jamie Tricker. Overall, the finals over the last few weeks went well, and it was awesome to again see our district kids playing at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium, especially on Grand Final day after several seasons away. We hope to be there again next year if match schedules allow.
With that the 2022 season has concluded, thank you to all volunteers, officials, parents, participants and our partners for making this season possible and through showing your continued help and support of the St George Junior League.
