Congratulations Angela Ndaira!
After being crowned the NRL Dragons WIL District champion, Angela Ndaira has also been name the NSWRL Volunteer of the Year (Southern Sydney Region). This award can come from a volunteer within St George and Cronulla Junior Leagues which recognises the hard work they do for community rugby league, acknowledging the valuable contribution they make to the game in their local communities. Recipients from each defined region automatically go into the mix to be potentially crowned the NSWRL Gordon Lowrie Volunteer of the Year which is the NSWRL Volunteer of the year award, an award which recently was won by Theresa Tasaico of Riverwood Legion.
Ndaira has worked tirelessly for a countless number of years both at her club, Kingsgrove Colts and also supporting women’s rugby league pathways in the district, being a huge driver for female participation. The Colts have the largest player base of female players in the district, largely thanks to Ndaira and her team’s hardwork, often staying late to get everything in order and so players and teams can take the field.
There are more than 28,000 volunteers who give up their time every week to keep community Rugby League running, with jobs ranging from managing registrations to managing the BBQ. The junior league would congratulates Angela and would like to thank all our volunteers in and out of our district for the work they do every season to keep our great game on the field.
